TEHRAN - On the eve of the annual seminar of Iranian cultural attaches assigned in foreign countries, the Deputy Manager of the Islamic Relations and Culture Organization (IRCO), Manouchehr Mottaki, said that the main mission of IRCO is to promote the work of Iranian artists and intellectuals abroad.

He said that IRCO has recently held meetings with Iranian intellectuals to exchange views on how to promote the country's artists and intellectuals abroad.

He said familiarization with the situation and requirements in foreign countries is necessary to boosting contacts and relations with those of the world at large.

The seminar for Iranian cultural attaches is to open in the Imam Khomeini Complex of IRCO on Tuesday, August 13.

Some 50 cultural envoys of IRCO are currently on duty in various countries abroad.
